The magic stories of ice-cold mountain lakes, lots of outdoors people, armfuls of wild berries and mountains……those are the stories that I like

Over the last few years I’ve found myself completely happy with being in North Italy – I felt I had everything – sea, moors, mountains, lakes and clean nature.

Starting from a small town called Trivero nestled in the alps of  Biella, the delight of seeing & smelling a new environment was inspiring, naturally I wanted to be out there immersing myself in it all.

Everything can taste differently in a new place, the air, earth and water contributing to a plant’s unique flavour.

I find walking and foraging a great way to experience a place and  before I knew it I was walking up & down valleys comforting myself with the pleasures of elderberries, blueberries & raspberries. Everything can taste differently in a new place – the air, earth & water contributing to a plant’s unique flavour. The sharp taste of raw blueberries was surprisingly pleasant as a walking snack.

The blueberries were like none I’d tasted before… sweet, seedy, ripe, succulent, full of nutrients!

  • Blueberry season is from May to October.
